To read about how you can make your own table runner adding words of inspiration and encouragement go to the Embroidery Online blog.

My friend Betty Ladymon has an article in:  Through the Needle ONLINE - Issue 19.  It is a heirloom serger pillow.  If you look on the last page you will get a "sneak peek" of my project for Through the Needle - Issue 20.  I am so excited for both of us!

BERNINA University 2013

Pride.  Passion.  Performance.

The theme for BERNINA University 2013 was Pride – Passion – Performance. The Opening Session in San Francisco gave us a red carpet presentation from a Joan Rivers impersonator who launched the “stars” of the new BERNINA line up.

Some of the “stars” revealed were:

Bernette Chicago 7

This new computerized combo machine is exciting!  Besides having over 200 stitches included, it also features 100 built in embroidery designs!  There is a USB port for transferring designs. Optional is to purchase the Cutwork Software and Accessory to go with it!

Do you love Butterflies and Peacocks?  Then the two new beautiful Special Edition 350 machines are for you.  Hurry, like the name says, they are limited!

BERNINA Special Edition 350 - Peacock

BERNINA Special Edition 350 - Butterfly

Next up, new to the 5 Series line up is the BERNINA 560.  The embroidery module is optional. It has many of the same great features of the BERNINA 580.

We heard about a 16 needle embroidery machine and saw a quick picture of one of the new long arm machines that will be previewing at the Houston Quilt Show this year.

We heard news of Version 7 software, a new line of Sergers, and the BERNINA 880.

This is one of the incredible new Sergers on the way.

So many new products "sew" little time!

Nonni Pillow

My son Matthew has been best friends with "the boys" since he was about 2 years old.  We see them at least once a week.  Sometimes more - sometimes less.  By now they know each other so well and are best friends.

"The boys" have only one set of grandparents still living.  They do not get to see them often because they live in Italy.  Their Nonni spoils them rotten and they miss their grandparents very much when they are not with them.  When they are in town we like to have them over.  Their English is better than my Italian, but we enjoy being together with them.

I wanted to make them a keepsake that they could take home with them.  I asked "the boys" Mom for  a picture and then turned it into a pillow.

You can read more about the pillow on the We All Sew blog.

Cooking with Ree Drummond, the Pioneer Women and my sister Traci

My favorite sister gave me this cookbook as an early birthday present.  She must really love me!

She had Ree sign it for me.  Happy Dance!

The first recipe I tried was Ree's Perfect Pot Roast.  I used cube steak instead of the roast but all other ingredients and instructions were right out of the cookbook.  It tasted as good as it looks!  Yum!

Be Spooky Banner

Do you love banners as much as I do?

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.  It might have something to do with the color orange or it might be the free candy!

Banners are a quick way to decorate and I would like to show you my "Be Spooky" banner.  It was featured on We All Sew.  Once again, I went to All About Blanks to purchase their Bright Color Cocktail Napkins.  I then shopped at Embroidery Online and found two designs sets that I thought would be perfect for the banner.  Charming Letters #12422 and Halloween Sayings #12267.

This banner was "sew easy".  It took no time at all.

What would your banner say?

Who knew an apron could be so easy?

I want to show you a quick and easy project.  This 4th of July apron was made using a plain white dish towel from All About Blanks.

You can get the PDF of this project on their website: All About Blanks

You can also see the apron featured on  We All Sew

It features a design from Embroidery Online.  The design is from the collection  #12408 Radiant Celebrations

This was a very easy project.  The very best towels are from All About Blanks.

Enjoy!

WELCOME TO MY BLOG - April 25, 2013

This is my "web log" about all things sewing.  I want to encourage creativity and inspire, as well as be inspired by you.  I want to share my passion for creating!

Periodically, I will write a new post.  It might be several per week or one a month.  I honestly can't predict the frequency, but I hope you join me on this journey.

I can't wait to hear what you think!

WELCOME TO MY BLOG!
